Hi,

I can't seem to get the "lxfb" framebuffer on my Debian system with 2.6.25-4 kernel. The screen goes blank (with some green lines at the top part) during the boot and then I get my regular GDM login screen. I am passing the parameter "video=lxfb:1024x768@60" in my GRUB file and I have compiled this into the kernel:
CONFIG_FB_GEODE=y
CONFIG_FB_GEODE_LX=y
# CONFIG_FB_GEODE_GX is not set
# CONFIG_FB_GEODE_GX1 is not set

Here is a part of my dmesg:
[ 0.192221] lxfb 0000:00:01.1: 32768 KB of video memory at 0xe0000000
[ 0.212916] fb0: Geode LX frame buffer device

If I don't pass any parameter the system boots with the default 80x25 console. A year back I do remember taking the lxfb geode patch from the old linux-geode mailing list and I had applied to the 2.6.22 kernel and that had worked just fine. Did something change since then?

Also it seems that someone else also had a similar problem:
http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/1/27/173

Any ideas/thoughts?

Kushal Koolwal

I do blog at http://blogs.koolwal.net/

______________________

EMAILING FOR THE GREATER GOOD
