Rick,
The API is also very different between the two. The software stack on
both look completely different. There is a separate team of engineers
who have designed the software stack on 8338.

  One last question.

  Assuming I have the right firmware (extracted from the *.sys file)
for this part and assuming that the unit is downloaded and running
(the "Lnk" light comes on), then would it be a big task?  In other
words is the USB API a lot different between the 8338 and the 8388?
